Dear Friends of Ames Romero House,
This special edition of our newsletter is dedicated to our Flannel & Friends Fall Fundraiser, Sunday, October 18, at the Rustic Rose Barn in Roland.
This annual event gives us an opportunity to bring our community together, enjoy an evening of fellowship, and celebrate another year at Ames Romero House. Most importantly, it gives us an opportunity to say thank you.
For nearly six years, our community has supported Ames Romero House through prayer, volunteer service, donations, meals, supplies, partnerships, and friendship. We simply could not do what we do without you.
Today, we welcome more than 12,000 total guest visits each year, providing meals, showers, laundry, fellowship, and connections to resources. We are also taking a leadership role in the Ames Warming Place (AWP) and integrating the Homeless Outreach Support Team (HOST) into our mission.
We are grateful for how far God has brought us and for the many people who have helped us along the way.

This year’s auction will be our largest yet, with nearly 60 packages made possible through the generosity of businesses throughout Central Iowa. A special thank-you goes to our volunteer Scott Sitzman, whose work has helped us secure goods and services from more than 100 businesses.
Online bidding opens Friday, October 2, at 8 a.m. We will send out a notification with the auction link on October 1, so you are ready to bid the next day. Here’s the link to bid:
Silent Auction packages will include a Buy Now option. If the Buy Now is met, the item is sold.
Items that remain available will also be displayed for silent bidding at the fundraiser. We will
carry over the highest bid and keep it available at the event until 7:30 p.m., when we will
announce the winners.
We will initially offer live auction packages online with a Buy Now option. We will auction any
remaining unsold items at Flannel & Friends on October 18. Our goal is to sell as many packages
as possible before the fundraiser, so please participate in the auction if you can, and please
forward the auction link to your friends and family.
We greatly appreciate the businesses and individuals who donated items this year. Their
generosity has made this auction possible.
